Lux Support meta analysis (Patch 26.13)

Lux holds a 49.1% win rate in the Support role on Patch 26.13, 0.8 points below the Support role average of 49.9%. That is the 28th highest win rate of 36 Support champions tracked at Emerald+ this patch. With a 6.2% pick rate (12th most played in the role) and a 3.1% ban rate, Lux rarely gets banned, so the pick is almost always available in champion select.

Lux Support held steady at C tier through Patch 26.13, with no tier movement since the previous data merge. Stable ratings are a good sign for one-tricks: the play patterns you practice now should keep working next patch. At C tier, Lux is a mains-only pick this patch: expect to out-knowledge opponents rather than out-stat them.

Champion select decides a lot of Lux Support games. The hardest matchups this patch are Pyke (47.8% win rate for Lux) and Thresh (48.5% win rate for Lux): consider banning one or holding your pick until the opponent locks in. On the other side, Lulu (49.9%) and Nami (49.5%) are the least punishing matchups for Lux this patch.

How to play Lux Support

  • Pick Lux Support in patch 26.13 only as a comfort pick: expect to out-knowledge opponents rather than out-stat them.

Lux Support guide

As a support, Lux wins the lane by threatening a pick from range and then protecting whoever capitalizes on it: Light Binding locks down the priority target first, Prismatic Barrier turns around whatever punish comes back the other way, and Final Spark finishes the kill while also setting off Illumination (passive) for extra magic damage on the target it hits.

The build

Two Health Potions is the entire starting buy before recalling into Sorcerer's Shoes. Ultimate Hunter and Cheap Shot from Domination back up a Sorcery page of Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence, and Scorch, and Flash pairs with Heal. Lucent Singularity (E) gets maxed first, Light Binding (Q) second, Prismatic Barrier (W) last. Luden's Echo, Stormsurge, and Shadowflame form the core, with Zaz'Zak's Realmspike, Malignance, and Oblivion Orb as later options.

Ability mechanics

Any target struck by a Lux spell gets charged by Illumination (passive); an attack on that charged target then detonates it for bonus magic damage that scales with her level. Prismatic Barrier (W) sends her wand outward and wraps light around the first ally it reaches, shielding them from incoming damage — the piece that lets Lux protect a play instead of only starting one. Light Binding (Q) is the setup: a sphere of light that binds and hurts up to two enemies in its line. Lucent Singularity (E) slows anyone near where it lands and can be detonated on command to damage every enemy still caught inside it.

Matchups

Pyke, Thresh, Seraphine, Nautilus, and Senna give this lane the most trouble. Lulu, Nami, and Karma are the matchups that tend to go Lux's way.
