League of Legends runs on macOS, but many popular companion apps don't. The Porofessor, Mobalytics and U.GG desktop apps are built on Overwolf, which only runs on Windows. Blitz and OP.GG for Desktop offer Mac versions, and every stats website works in a Mac browser. To train your decisions rather than read stats, MOBA Trainer has a desktop app for macOS, for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Why most League apps don't work on Mac
Many League companion apps are built on Overwolf, a platform for in-game apps and overlays. Overwolf only runs on Windows, and it has said it has no plans for a Mac version. So an app that lives inside Overwolf has no Mac version either, however good it is on Windows.
That is why searching for Porofessor or Mobalytics on Mac usually leads nowhere. Their websites still work in Safari or Chrome, so you can look up builds, tier lists and a live game in the browser while you play.
Companion apps that do run on Mac
Blitz and OP.GG for Desktop are standalone apps, not Overwolf apps, and both offer a Mac version. They import runes and builds, show information about the players in your game and track your stats. If that is what you need on a Mac, start with one of them.
MOBA Trainer does none of that. It does not read your games or show an overlay, so it does not replace a stats app. It does a different job.
MOBA Trainer: decision training on Mac
Stats apps tell you what happened. MOBA Trainer trains what to do next. It turns real game situations into puzzles: you see the map, choose what to do, then learn why the best players choose differently.
The puzzles follow 51 patterns, such as wave management, vision, objective set-ups and teamfights, each with a video explanation from top players and coaches. The app is in 12 languages.
The daily puzzle and the first lesson are free. The full campaign is part of the Season Pass, at $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year, with no free trial.
How to install MOBA Trainer on a Mac
Download the app below and open the .dmg file from your downloads. Drag MOBA Trainer into Applications, open it there and sign in.
Most Macs from late 2020 on have Apple Silicon (M1 or newer); older Macs have an Intel chip. You can check under Apple menu, About This Mac. MOBA Trainer has a build for each.
Use both kinds of app
A stats app and a training app do not compete. Use a companion app for builds and live game info, and use training to fix the decisions that lose games: where to stand, when to push, when to fight.
On a Mac, that means Blitz or OP.GG for Desktop for builds, a stats website for match history, and MOBA Trainer for decisions.
