Baron buff is temporary, so the goal is to turn it into towers and inhibitors before it runs out. After Baron, recall or regroup, then push the waves the buff makes stronger and siege together, ideally on more than one lane at once. Do not chase kills or take bad fights with it: if your team dies, the buff is gone.

Turn the buff into structures
Baron buff makes nearby minions much stronger, which is what lets your team take towers quickly. Kills are a bonus, but towers and inhibitors are what the buff is for.
After the fight at Baron, look at your team. If you are low on health or mana, recall together and come back with the buff; if you are healthy and the enemy is dead or far away, push straight away.
Siege with waves, not without them
Walk with your empowered minions into the tower. Taking a tower without minions means taking tower shots yourself and giving the enemy time to come back.
If your team can, push two lanes at once: the group sieges one lane while a strong side laner pushes another. The enemy cannot defend both, and they lose something either way.
Don't throw the buff
The most common Baron mistake is a fight that should never happen: one player walks into the enemy jungle, gets caught, and the team follows into a bad fight. Each player who dies loses the buff.
If the enemy is waiting under their tower with full health, poke them and push waves instead of diving in. When the buff is about to end, take what you can safely and reset.
Common Baron buff mistakes
Chasing kills instead of pushing, diving a full-health team under their tower, splitting up so the enemy picks players off, and wasting the buff by walking around the jungle are the classic ways to waste it.
In a replay, count what your team took with each Baron buff. If the answer is one tower or nothing, look at what you did in the first minute after Baron.

Using Baron buff is one of the 51 patterns on MOBA Trainer's Pattern Map, in the Map movement group. It has a video explanation from a coach and training puzzles built from real game situations: you see the map, choose where to go, and learn why the best players choose differently.
Frequently asked questions
- What does Baron buff do in League of Legends?
- It makes your team stronger and makes nearby minions much stronger, which helps you take towers and inhibitors. The buff is temporary, and a player who dies loses it.
- Should I recall after taking Baron?
- Often yes, if your team is low on health or mana. You keep the buff, heal up, and come back to siege together. If the enemy team is dead or far away, pushing straight away can be better.
- How do I use Baron buff to end the game?
- Push waves into towers together, pressure more than one lane at once so the enemy has to split, and avoid fights where they can catch one of you. Inhibitors and towers are the goal.
- Is MOBA Trainer free?
- The daily puzzle and the first lesson are free. The full campaign with every pattern is part of the Season Pass. MOBA Trainer runs on Windows, macOS, iPhone, Android and the web, and the Discord bot Moti brings the daily puzzle to Discord.
